Uttarakhand’s Mahika to represent India in the ‘Youth Exchange Programme’ in China

Marching her way to the Republic Day Parade, BHU’s estudante Mahika Pharthal will now showcase her talent in China. Hailing from the “City of Lakes” Nainital, Mahika will soon visit China to participate in the Youth Exchange Program. Mahika along with three other girls was selected by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to represent the country in China. Preeti from Bareilly University and Chris John from Allahabad University were the other two girls to receive the honour of visiting China for the Youth Exchange Program.

According to the China Youth Delegation, these girls will have a tour in China from 9 to 16 June, after which they will need to submit a report to the ministry. Mahika who is an active member of the Indian Youth Delegation, as well as volunteer at MMV, BHU and NSS, has taken part in several social service programmes earlier. Dr Rajeev Mishra, the officer in charge of the programme said that it is a matter of pride that Devbhoomi Kashi’s Mahika will represent India in a foreign land. From the past two years a volunteer of the unit, Mahika will become a part of the ‘Youth Exchange Programme’. This, in turn, will inspire other women of the state to take part in such events that are a learning experience for the youth.
