Uttarakhand’s Deepak Singh Negi bags two gold medals in Athletics in Malaysia

Deepak Sigh Negi, resident of Kaladhungi in Nainital won two gold medals in 31st International Open Masters Athletics Championship held in Malaysia. Deepak struck gold in long jump and triple jump events in the championship which was held on 22-23 July. With these achievements, Deepak Negi made Uttarakhand and India proud with him being the first person from Kaladhungi to struck gold. He is currently working as a manager at reputable private hospital in Gurgaon.

Having pursued his education from primary school in Haldwani followed by state inter college in Kaladhungi, Deepak was always interested in sports. His long jump skills were discovered while pursuing his B.Com and M.Com education at Dev Singh Bisht College, Nainital. He was also an undisputed champion from 1998-2001 at Kumaon University. He also scored 4th position at 2002 National Games held in Safai, Uttar Pradesh.
