Good news! Adventure tourists can now scuba dive at Tehri lake

Uttarakhand government’s ambitious project to turn Tehri lake into one of the popular tourism destination in the country received a major boost. Scuba diving is set to become one of the major attraction for adventure seekers at Tehri lake. After the trails went successfully, the tourism department is planning to start this activity on a regular basis. During the recent Tehri Lake festival, scuba diving was conducted on a trial basis in which 44 tourists were lowered 15 to 20 feet into the lake. They were able to get a glimpse of the submerged Old Tehri town.

After the success of the trials, the scuba diving will be started for tourists at earliest which will cost Rs. 2000 for an half and hour of submerged experience which will also include an scuba expert. The officials believe there is plenty of opportunities at scuba diving at Tehri lake. Tourists can explore Tehri lake and the remains of the submerged old Tehri town upto 3o meters. At one time, around a dozen of tourists can dive into the Tehri lake.
