U’khand to establish new Boarding Schools after closing 1910 Government Schools

The decision of Education Minister, Arvind Pandey to shut down the government schools having student strength less than 10 has taken its toll on the 1910 government schools in Uttarakhand. As per the orders released by Pandey, the Education Department has collected the data of all the government schools of Uttarakhand. These schools will be soon shut down and instead new boarding schools will be established at different places. These boarding schools will have a dedicated staff of learned teachers and will offer a growth inclusive environment for the scholars to thrive. State of the art facilities will also be provided to the scholars at the school campus.

On Monday, Primary Education Director, Seema Jaunsari called for a meeting with the officers at the Nannurkhera situated Cement Office. In the meeting, the officers handed over the factual data to Seema comprising of the student strength of all the district schools. The records show that 1910 schools running in the state do not have student strength up to 10, therefore the potential of the teachers is not being channelized to the fullest. Hence, the government has come to the conclusion that these schools will be soon replaced with new 500-700 boarding schools. After closing the government schools, their funds will be utilized to finance the boarding schools that will provide quality education along with modern amenities at the school campus.
