Uttarakhand ranks second in number of young enterprises: NITI Aayog

In a recent report released by NITI Aayog, Uttarakhand ranks second in the list of states with most number of young enterprises and industries. The survey report named ‘Ease of Doing Business: An Enterprise Survey of Indian States’ placed Bihar first, followed by Uttarakhand, Punjab and Sikkim. Overall, in all 29 states and union territories, there are 799 young enterprises (10 years  or younger) out of 3276 companies in manufacturing sector.

In Uttarakhand, around 73% of the overall enterprises are young enterprises. In the report presented by NITI Aayog, 32% of the new enterprises are small scale while 43% enterprises are large scale. Around 3,500 companies in the manufacturing sector and 141 startups were surveyed in this report. If talking about figures, states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana tops the list with most number of young enterprises and industries.
