Uttarakhand CM to hoist tricolor at Indo-China border and send stern message to China

In order to send a stern message to Chinese Army for their frequent incursions into the Indian territory, Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Rawat will hoist national flag at a border village on the Independence Day. As per the Badrinath MLA Mahendra Bhatt, the chief minister will hoist the tricolor at Gamsali which is a frontier village on the Indo-Tibetan border touching Uttarakhand. It will be historic occasion for the Uttarakhand CM as he’ll be the first chief minister to unfurl the national flag at a border village.

State BJP president Ajay Bhatt believes the decision by chief minister to hoist tricolor will not only boost the morale of the Indian Army but also that of the general public. It will also send a clear message that we are capable of defending our international borders. Last year, India sent a strong message during the long drawn Doklam stand-off with China under the strong leadership of PM Narendra Modi.

The chief minister confirmed in an official communique on Wednesday that he would unfurl the national flag at Gamsali on Independence Day.  The village is close to Barahoti, a “disputed area” on Line of Actual Control (LAC) which witnessed several air and ground violations from Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
