About Prakash Parv

Prakash Utsav also known as Prakash Parv is one of the prominent occasions of the Sikh community. It is observed annually according to the Nanakshahi Sikhism calendar. The year 2017 commemorated the 350th birth anniversary of the 10th Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the creator of the gracious “Khalsa”.

Sikhs and Sikh Gurus have always been the trailblazers and one shouldn’t forget their sacrifices made for the mankind and the country. In Uttarakhand itself, Sikhs have played a great role in the development of the state. They have always been on the frontier to face any challenge with courage. Therefore, the history of India is incomplete without citing the name of the great Sikh Gurus.
