UKD to raise Gairsain issue in 2017 Assembly Elections

Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (Progressive), a key regional party who was instrumental in the formation of a separate state of Uttarakhand back in 2000, has declared that their lifelong ambition to make Gairsain permanent capital of Uttarakhand will remain a major talking point in their manifesto for the upcoming 2017 Assembly elections.

First assembly session in Gairsain took place on November 17, 2016                                                                      Image Source

Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (P) media secretary Uday Ram Semwal hits out at both Congress and BJP for their ineptness towards making Gairsain a permanent capital. He added that when BJP rose to power, they made Dehradun an interim capital of Uttarakhand instead. The Gairsain issue was not taken seriously during the Congress reign as well.

UKD hopes the electorate in Uttarakhand will understand the importance and need of a regional party at helm which will tackle the real issues faced by Uttarakhand at present such as migration, unemployment and corruption. The party will reach out to voters directly, carry survey in their respective Assembly subdivisions and give a detailed report about local issues which may find its way into the party’s manifesto.
