Here’s how twitter reacted to Rahul’s ‘phata kurta’ statement during Uttarakhand rally

The much-beloved momma’s boy and Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi has once again become the talk of the town but this time not for his lavish trips to abroad but for his latest ‘phata-kurta’ statement that he made while addressing a rally at Uttarakhand. During the Rishikesh rally, Rahul held allegations at the Prime Minister for masquerading as a poor man’s godfather while devoting his precious time to at least 50 elite and influential industrialists. He didn’t stop here and alleged the PM for wanting him to be the face for everything, taking jibes at the latest khadi commission calendar controversy in which Modi’s image was replaced with Gandhi Ji’s. He stated, “If things go on like this you will find Ramlila actors wearing Modi masks from next year, instead of Lord Ram’s”.

Rahul Gandhi visited Rishikesh to prep-up the Congress workers for the much awaited, February 15 Assembly polls. He made the nerve-tickling statement and showed his torn pocket to the audience, stating, “He (Narendra Modi) wants to replace Mahatma Gandhi, but wears clothes worth Rs 15 lakh. I have my khadi kurta with a torn pocket”.

While the Congress scion’s remark received a big round of applause from the gathering but it didn’t get down well with the Twiterratis, especially after his fresh return from his fancy European vacation. Some laughed it off, and some trolled him saying that they would love to crowd-fund a new kurta for him. Here are some of the best twitter reactions on Rahul’s phata-kurta statement:
