Tourists Visiting Mussoorie in Peak Season will get a Pass Now

The Taxi Union and hoteliers gave a green flag to the decision of giving Passes to the Tourists visiting Mussoorie

Soon the tourists heading Mussoorie without booking a hotel will have to face new challenges. The Police will now give a pass to the hotel owners so they can do their business without the interference of the police. In a meeting with the City Superintendent of Police Mr. Ajay Singh, the hoteliers and Taxi Union has given their approval on the pass system.

The passes will be distributed at Harrawala, Jhajra, and Asha Rodi check-post

Many visitors thronged Mussoorie in the New Year which disrupted the traffic order. To clear the jam at Kothal Gate and Mussoorie road, the vehicles were stopped in which the online hotel booking tourists had to suffer. The hotel association objected this, after which SSP Sweety Aggarwal and SP City, Ajay Singh decided that in peak seasons passes will be allowed to the tourists. These passes will be distributed by the police at Harrawala, Jhajra, and Asha Rodi check-post.

If Mussoorie will remain packed with tourists then the vehicles without any bookings will be sent back. On Wednesday a meeting was held at the Mussoorie Police Station for the approval of the pass system, in which it was decided that the locals will also receive a pass to make their access easy.

New Parking Places to be introduced in Mussoorie

Since there is a dearth of parking space in Mussoorie, new parking spaces will be introduced soon. At present, there are around 4,500 local vehicles in Mussoorie, while the parking space in Mussoorie can only accommodate 2,500 vehicles.

Request for a change in the present Traffic Diversion plan at Mussoorie

Uttarakhand Hotel Association President, Sandeep Sahni said that the plan of diverting the traffic from Court Mackenzie road should be disregarded as it causes jam and the vehicles moving from Cart Mckenzie road stop at Mussoorie Library.  If the vehicles will not be diverted then they can access Mussoorie Library, Picture Palace, and Dhanaulti. The vehicles coming from Kempty Falls should be re-directed from Zero Point- Hanthipaon Cart Mckenzie road. Few people also objected the parking of taxis at the Picture Palace and Library Chowk. The idea of controlling the speeding vehicles and banning the vehicles after 5 pm at Mall road was also proposed.
