Dehradun: Due to the Coronavirus outbreak in the country, Uttarakhand’s tourism turnout ratio is being affected in hills stations especially in Nainital, Uttarkashi, Haridwar, Mussoorie and Munsiyari.

According to Times of India’s report many hotels bookings in these places are being cancelled due to the Covid- 19 scare. In Nainital almost half of the advanced bookings have been cancelled and the situation is expected to get worse if the fear of virus is maintained.

The similar spurt in the cancellation in other tourist places like Mussoorie, Haridwar, Munsiyari, etc. have also given the Uttarakhand’s tourism industry a hit. It is predicted that, if the fear persists, the upcoming tourist peak season( May and July) will experience extremely less number of tourists.

Covid 19 is a virus which has been spread almost in the entire world. WHO has declared it a ‘Pandemic disease’’. In India the count of the positive cases have risen to 60.
