Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali comes to govt’s aid, to purchase farm produce worth 1,000 crore

Yoga guru Swami Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. will work in conjunction with Uttarakhand government to to promote organic farming, tourism and producing medicinal herbal plants in the state. CM Trivendra Rawat met Swami Ramdev on Wednesday to discuss the opportunities where the government and the Indian FMCG company could work in tandem. Swami Ramdev expressed his willingness to purchase organic farm produce worth Rs. 1,000 crore from Uttarakhand farmers for manufacturing Ayurved products.

Uttarakhand CM assured government is ready to take any difficult steps it may have to, for the prosperity of the state. Patanjali Ayurved is currently working on a buyback system to purchase state products. In the event presided by CM, Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, the yoga guru was enthusiastic about the govt’s plan to create 13 major tourism destination in 13 districts and expressed his support in creation of Ayush Gram at these 13 destinations. Apart from that, a large scale gaushala (cow shed) will also be set up where best breed of cows will be raised. Forest Minister Harak Singh Rawat and senior state level officers including Chief Secretary S Ramaswamy were present during the interaction.
