#SelfieFromMyVillage Initiative: CM urges people to visit ancestral village with kids this summer

Migration of people from the state has been the foremost issue in Uttarakhand even before the state came into existence. In order to instill a sense of cultural identity in the younger generation of Uttarakhand, especially the ones born and brought up outside Uttarakhand, CM Trivendra Rawat has urged the parents to take their children to their ancestral village for the summer vacation. This little initiative will not only help children learn about the fading Uttarakhand heritage and culture but will also teach children to respect nature.

While the government has still a lot to do in terms of providing employment to the youth as well as improving basic facilities in the rural area of Uttarakhand to stop migration,  the CM believes a small part of the onus lies on the parents who could do their bit to contribute to the cause. The CM encouraged people to click selfies with their children at their village with hashtag #SelfieFromMyVillage to bring a sense of admiration and respect for the Devbhoomi in social media.
