PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate investors’ summit in Uttarakhand

PM Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Destination Uttarakhand: Investors’ Summit 2018 that is scheduled to take place in the first week of October. Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Rawat confirmed his arrival at an event launching the website destinationuttarakhand.in and logo for the investors’ summit in Dehradun in Monday. The registration on the website will start from August 15. The summit will be hosted at Maharana Pratap Sports College Stadium in Dehradun. Although the event is likely to be held on 4-5 October, however it will be made official only after approval from Prime minister’s office.

Destination Uttarakhand will provide a platform to investors from India and abroad. In the summit, investors, producers, manufacturers, policy makers and industrial organizations from around the world will participate. Investment in the state will provide employment opportunities to local youths in different areas.

Recently, Uttarakhand was declared the top Himalayan state in terms of ease of doing business. With the help of the investors’ summit, Uttarakhand is hoping to attract big investments by offering perks such as single window clearance system; lowest electricity in North Indian states; better law and order; and skilled manpower. Twelve sectors have been selected which include food processing, horticulture, herbal and aromatic, tourism, wellness and Ayush, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, sericulture and natural fiber, IT, renewable energy, biotechnology and film shooting.

Various Mini Conclaves prior to the investor’s summit

In order to attract investors, various road shows and mini conclaves will be held all over the country. A mini conclave for AAYUSH, Ayurveda, herbal, aromatic and Pharma has already taken place in Haridwar on July 12.
