PM Meets CM Rawat in Delhi, asks for zero tolerance in Corruption

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday. During this meeting, PM asked the newly appointed CM to take effective steps to fight corruption in the state. In an interview, Rawat told media that, “The Prime Minister has asked for zero tolerance on the issue of corruption. He has also assured us full support for the development of Uttarakhand”. “I came here to seek blessings from the PM in order to make Uttarakhand a fully developed state”, said Rawat.

CM also had a brief encounter with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu earlier that day. “Naidu Ji has assured us that there will be no shortage of funds for the development of Uttarakhand,”said Rawat. Later he went to meet President Pranab Mukherjee. In his meeting with Party President Amit Shah, Rawat discussed the issue of portfolio allocation. According to some sources, on mutual consultation, different departments have been allocated to the ministers according to their portfolio. Rishikesh Legislator Premchand Aggarwal will be the new President of the Legislative Assembly. However, his name will be publicly announced on Thursday, after completing the selection procedure.
