Online Budget to come up for the first time in Uttarakhand

For the first time, an online budget will be introduced in Uttarakhand, for which the administration level has done all the preparations. This will not only bring transparency but it will also help in curbing corruption. After Gujrat and Maharashtra, Uttarakhand will be the third state to have an online budget.

As per the new system, the department demand, approval from the secretariat level and the drill by the Finance Department to incorporate the budget will be done online. All the preparations regarding this have been completed and the treasury will go online. Apart from this, training will be imparted to over 4,000 Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDO) of various departments. For the trail, everybody is asking for an essential sum from their department which is being done online. After this, the bill will be passed and the money will be transferred.

On January 13, Finance Secretary Amit Singh Negi came up with essential guidelines for the online budget. The financial acceptance from the different departments of Chief Secretary, Secretary or the HOD level will be issued on February 28. With this, all the DDO’s of the state will share their demand to the treasury till March 24, through an online application. Meanwhile, the demand inquiry from the DDO level will begin from March 27. While the proceedings for the uploading and approving will be done from March 29.
