No science teacher in GGIC school, Rudraprayag DM sends his wife to teach students

Known for his professionalism, honesty and dabangg approach, Mangesh Ghildiyal has become a household name, especially in Rudraprayag district. When the young IAS officer found that there was no science teacher for class 10 students in the school, he asked her wife to teach as a substitute teacher. His wife Usha not only selflessly agreed, but has since become a favorite among students. Her teaching methods are lauded by school administration and students and is likely to continue until a new teacher is hired.

While her husband Mangesh Ghildiyal scored an remarkable All India Rank 4 in 2011 IAS examination, Usha Ghildiyal herself has earned a doctorate degree in Plant Pathology from Govind Vallabh Pant University, Pantnagar. Instead of opting for comfortable lifestyle that comes with Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Mangesh Ghildiyal chose to serve in his home state – to serve his own people. Burdened with administrative workloads as a District Magistrate, former Bageshwar DM still finds time to listen to the issues faced by common people and strive to find quick solution.
