No fees on shooting movies in Uttarakhand, assures new Uttarakhand Film Policy

In order to attract filmmakers to wards the enthralling beauty in Uttarakhand, the Uttarakhand government has waived off film shooting fees the state used to levy on filmmakers earlier. Apart from the fee incurred in single window system, no other fee would be charged by the state government. Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, secretary in charge and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand Film Development Board, however clarified that parking fees or fees which is sought for the place where shooting is scheduled would be paid by the filmmakers.

The state government brought necessary changes in ‘Uttarakhand Film Policy 2015’. At the moment, the government charges Rs. 15,000 per month for shooting of regional movies while Rs. 1,00,000 per day for Bollywood films.  CM Trivendra Rawat has waived this fee in order to encourage filmmakers to shoot in Uttarakhand and indirectly promote tourism in Uttarakhand when the lush green valley and snow-capped mountains hit the silver screen. A conducive environment is being created by the government with 4 big-budget films already shot in Uttarakhand in the last year.
