Kedarnath shrine to open for devotees on April 29

One of the Chota Char Dham in Uttarakhand, the revered Kedarnath shrine will open for devotees on April 29 according to the temple officials. As per the tradition, the date was finalized after consulting the astrologers and priests at a  meeting that took place at Shri Onkareshwar Temple situated in Ukhimath in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The timings of opening of the temple gates has been fixed as 6:15 AM.

Kedarnath is one the four revered shrines in Uttarakhand, known as Chota Char Dham, which is visited by millions of devotees every year. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Kedarnath witness a great footfall during the pilgrimage season. Other three shrines on the Char Dham circuit is Badrinath (dedicated to Lord Vishnu), Gangotri (dedicated to goddess Ganga) and Yamunotri (dedicated to goddess Yamuna).
