Kedarnath restoration work to begin mid-November: Rudraprayag DM

The restoration work at Kedarnath will begin latest by mid-November following PM Modi’s visit at the holy shrine last month. The progress of all the five projects PM Modi laid foundation stone of, will be supervised by Kedarnath Development Authority which is expected to open an office at GMVN guesthouse in Kedar valley to speed up the work. According to Rudraprayag DM Mangesh Ghildiyal, the survey work for these projects have already begun after which construction activities will start.

After PM Modi stressed on speedy construction and proper monitoring of restoration work at Kedarnath, the state government has also taken it up on priority basis with Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Rawat himself taking keen interest on the matter. A drone will also be used to monitor the progress.

In an earlier news, Government of Uttarakhand signed MoU with JSW Group which would spearhead the reconstruction works at Kedarpuri.

2. Widening of Gaurikund-Kedarnath trek route

3. Flood protection arrangement at Mandakini and Saraswati rivers

4. Reconstruction of houses of priests that were destroyed during 2013 catastrophe
