Jai Bholenath! Baba Kedar doli leave Ukhimath for Kedarnath, kapaat to open at 3 May

The sacrosanct doli of revered Lord Kedarnath has left Ukhimath and is on its way to Kedarnath shrine situated amidst the lofty Himalayan peaks. On Sunday, after the ceremonial worship of the idol coupled with the Vedic hymns and chants by the high priests, the palanquin (doli) of the Lord left the sanctum sanctorum of Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath.

At the auspicious time of 9:15 AM, the doli left the temple premises and reached Phata village by evening along with large number of devotees. Even in heavy rain, the devotees took part in the procession with great devotion and enthusiasm. In its first phase, the doli reached Phata village via Guptkashi, Naala and other villages en route. The gateway to the Kedarnath temple will open for the public on May 3. 

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present on the auspicious day of opening of the kapaat to seek blessings from Lord Kedarnath.
