First batch of pilgrims to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra flagged off

To make their sojourn to India’s most popular spiritual tour to Kailash Mansarovar, the first batch of a total of 55 pilgrims including 16 women, which will undertake the journey through Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh were flagged from New Delhi on Monday. The batch successfully reached Kathgodam on Monday afternoon which was lead by Chardramaully Kumar Sharma, an officer from Assam.

The first batch consisting of 55 Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims hailing from 13 different states including Assam, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, HP, UP, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, MP and Telangana reached Kathgodam in the afternoon. On arrival, the pilgrims were welcomed at Kathgodam and were sent to Almora to stay for the night. According to Mr Sharma, the pilgrims will reach the base camp at Dharchula today and will spend the night there. The next morning, the batch will proceed towards the first trek route camp at Sirkha.
