Jan 4 Weather Forecast: Heavy snowfall likely over Uttarakhand, Himachal & Kashmir

According to the latest weather reports, a fresh western disturbance has affected Jammu and Kashmir and it is likely to cause fairly widespread moderate to heavy rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand.

Parts of North Punjab can see isolated rain showers, while the rest of northern plains can witness a marginal rise in the night temperature due to the medium and high clouds. A dense to very dense fog can be observed in East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, North Rajasthan and North Bihar, while the plains of Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi NCR can see moderate fog. Meanwhile, Central India will experience dry and clear weather conditions.

Reports have come out that down south a cyclonic circulation has developed over the southeast Bay of Bengal. This will result in moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Since the South Peninsula is far away from the mainland, therefore, it will remain dry and unaffected.
