Dehradun’s motto of  “Clean Doon Green Doon” is now being laughed upon

Doon’s dream of being the cleanest city has been shattered into pieces as once again it has tasted the dirt in the cleanliness survey. In the survey conducted by the Quality Council of India, Dehradun has bagged the 316th position among the 434 cities of the country. Ironically, this is the state of Doon when several schemes for developing Dehradun as a smart city are being proposed to the government but this survey has opened all the secret closets by showing us the real picture.

Uttarakhand fails thrice to secure a clean rank

Forget about coming in the top 100 cities, no city of Uttarakhand has secured its position among the top 200 list. This is not the first time that Uttarakhand has lagged behind in terms of cleanliness as it has failed in the 2015 survey too. In the survey conducted in 2015, Dehradun was in the 360th position. Similarly, in 2016 survey conducted between 73 cities Dehradun was in the 61st position.
