Green light to Uttarakhand route of Kailash-Mansarovar Yatra

This year’s Mansarovar Yatra will take place from the Uttarakhand route, the meeting between officials of Ministry of External Affairs and Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) took place. In this meeting, it was also revealed that pilgrims may also get the transportation facilities from Garbadar to Najang. Border Roads Organization (BRO) have already started construction of the road even before the Yatra has started. In addition to that there has been no deduction in the number of days of pilgrimage. The Kailash Yatra is scheduled to take place in June.

If the Lakanpur-Najang road is under construction or inoperable due to bad weather, the pilgrims will be airlifted in helicopters from Pithoragarh to Gunji. The responsibility of the operation of Mansarovar Yatra will be under KMVN. Online registration have already started and will continue up until April 6. In the meeting that took place in Delhi, if the construction of the road is complete before the Yatra commences, the pilgrims will the taken via the road. Tourist camps will be set up at Almora, Dharchula, Sirkha, Gala, Boondi, Gunji and Naabhidhaang.
