Government to decrease the price of Petrol and Diesel, no cess to be charged

The Uttarakhand state cabinet on Thursday unanimously agreed to not charge cess on the sale of petrol and diesel. This will make Petrol cheaper by 25 paise/litre while Diesel will get cheaper by 50 paisa/litre. The decision came after it was learnt that people prefer cheaper petrol from the neighboring state of UP, thus adversely affecting the revenue of the state.

Apart from that, the state cabinet under the aegis of Trivendra Singh Rawat, took an important decision regarding General Provident Fund (GPF). The government have decided to reduce the years of service required for GPF eligibility from 12 years to 10 years. The cabinet also agreed not to award any future tenders to the Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam Limited (UPRNN) and instead give preference to the concerned state organizations.
