Ganga crosses warning mark in Rishikesh, heavy rains lashes in Uttarakhand

The river Ganga crossed the warning mark in Rishikesh on Monday after which the administration was alerted to the impact of the excess water of 1.5 lakh cusec in the river. While in the evening the water level started to decrease, it was above the warning level all day up until the afternoon. Apart from that, the rainy river Chandrabhaga was also on the boom with Song river.

The Ganga was flowing 2 centimeters above the warning mark throughout the day on Monday. Water level crossed the warning at around 10 AM in the morning. At 3 PM in the afternoon, the water level was 2 centimeters above the warning level. From 5 PM in the evening, the water level began to fall. According to the MeT department, Uttarakhand will witness heavy rainfall in the districts of Champawat, Pithoragrah, Udham Singh Nagar. Along with this, normal rainfall us becoming prominent in plainer regions.
