Free IIT and Civil Service coaching for poor students in Dehradun, Srinagar and Almora

On the lines of renowned Super 30 education program, the central government is planning to provide free IIT and civil service coaching to poor and BPL category students. Around 130 students from the state will be coached at three different places in the state. All the expenses of theses selected students will be bore by the central government’s public sector organization such as SAIL and RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. A special entrance examination will be conducted for the aforementioned education program.

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd will bear the expenses of 30 students while GAIL Authority of India will take care of the expenses of 100 students. With the help of RailTel, 30 students will be trained for IIT entrance examination while GAIL will coach 50 students for IIT and 50 students for Civil Services examination at Dehradun and Almora.

Degree Colleges in Uttarakhand to get Rs. 2 Crore Grant

Under the central government’s Rashtriya Ucchatar Siksha Abhiyan (RUSA) project, 40 degree colleges in Uttarakhand will received monetary grant from the Centre. A budget of Rs. 2 crore will be provided to every college. Continuous vigilance will be carried out for the proper use of the monetary grant. A review committee regarding this decision will meet on October 12. Apart from that, guests faculty will also be invited to the colleges in Uttarakhand.
