Dehradun to host Uttarakhand Film Festival in August, 24 new regional films to be shown

Acclaimed actor and vice president of Uttarakhand Film Development Council Hemant Pandey have announced that capital city Dehradun will host Uttarakhand Film Festival in August which will showcase 24 recently made Uttarakhandi films for the general audience. He also added that after the formation of Uttarakhand Film Development Council in the state, various film directors living in Delhi and Mumbai have looked towards Uttarakhand for film direction which is a good sign. Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat will inaugurate the film festival in August, he said.

At present, two regional films are being shot in Nainital and in its vicinity by the director Manoj Sharma – ‘Hum Sab Hai Atrangi’ and ‘Lafander Ishq’. The 90% of the cast and crew of the film is from Uttarakhand with Arsh Deol, Jatin Pandey, Hemant Pandey, Anil Ghildiyal and Himani Shivpuri in the lead roles.

Hemant Pandey urged the upcoming filmmakers and artists in Uttarakhand to come forward in order to showcase their talent in the field of films and television. The Uttarakhand government will provide any assistance if required, he assured.

Uttarakhand film ‘Gopi Bhina’ to release this Friday

The highly-anticipated regional film Gopi Bhina is scheduled to release this Friday in Dehradun. The film will be shown in Carnival Cinemas in Vikas Mall in Indira Nagar. The film will run from 5:30 PM daily. Earlier, the film was premiered for the first time in Pithoragarh before it was shown Mumbai, Delhi, Nasik, Rohtak and Pune where it was enjoyed thoroughly by the Uttarakhand community.

Hemant Pandey, Himani Shivpuri, Sanjay Silodi and Twisha Bhatt are in the lead roles in the film which showcases the Uttarakhand culture, lifestyle, cuisine in a light-hearted manner.
