Bank of Happiness: A Haldwani resident opens bank where people can donate for poor

A unique bank has been opened up in Haldwani in Uttarakhand. Known as the ‘Bank of Happiness’, it is the brainchild of Haldwani resident Praveen Bhatt. The motive behind setting up this bank was to help the poor and needy in terms of clothes, shoes, utensils and other basic necessities which are provided to them free of cost. At this bank, people can donate their new or old clothes for the poor people. Since opening up the bank, Praveen has got great support from within the Haldwani city as well as from Dehradun and Delhi.

The aim behind setting up this bank was to ensure our poor brethren including laborers live comfortably. We are also thinking of expanding towards educations. Many children are not going to school so we are thinking of providing them free stationery.

The residents of Haldwani only had words of praise for this humanitarian effort by Praveen Bhatt. According to one of the donors, this is commendable step and can become even better if members of the society contribute. Many want to donate but don’t have a platform. Now, they too can give their bit.
