Badrinath Portals to Open from May 6

Now the devotees will be able to carry forward their pilgrimage to the revered Shri Badrinath Dham as its portals will be opened from May 6 onwards. After the opening of Badrinath doors, the visitors will be able to pay obeisance at the temple everyday from 4:15 am. During the auspicious festival of Vasant Panchami at Narendranagar Palace on Wednesday, Pandit Krishna Prasad Uniyal declared the date of opening of Badrinath shrine by looking at the Panchang calendar. While April 22 has been decided as the date for Gaadu Ghada Tel Kalash Yatra.

Following the age-old tradition, Manujendra Shah of Tehri Royal Family announced the news of the opening of Badrinath portals at 12:29 pm.  After receiving the news, the whole palace was suffused with the holy chants of Lord Badrinath. After fixing the date, Acharya Krishna Prasad Uniyal performed a puja.

During this occasion Officer of Dimri Panchayat carried the Gaadu pitcher from Yogdhyan Badri Temple at Pandukeshwar to Narendranagar Palace.  At this event, the Badrinath Dham Rawal Ishwari Prasad Numberi, Tehri Parliamentarian Raj Laxmi Shah, Princess Srijaya, Badri-Kedar Temple Committee CO DP Singh, Anil Sharma, Divakar Chamoli, Jagdish Bhatt, Anil Dhyani, Ashutosh Dimri, Shri Ram Dimri, Raj Purohit Sampuranand Joshi, Asharam Nautiyal and Suresh Dimri were present at the Tehri Palace.
