10 Days Rainfall Alert on Char Dham Pilgrim Route

The Char Dham pilgrims may have to wait a little longer to commence the yatra to the four revered Hindu shrines of India as the routes connected to all four Dhams may witness heavy downpour. The Meteorological Department has released an advisory, requesting the state government to take precautions on the pilgrim routes.

Bikram Singh, the Director of the Indian Meteorological Department told that in the coming ten days there will be continuous rainfall in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh since these districts are connected with the Char Dham Yatra route. There are also chances of having landslides at some places, for which an advisory has been issued for the government as well as the travellers. However, there is no such danger but if there will be an agile government system then roads can be easily carved so the travellers can be rescued from the landslide-prone area
